60 Seconds with the Pieta

Our Friday family night started with Stations of the Cross at Lumen Christi, moved on to the Pazzaluna restaurant in downtown St. Paul and ended with a brief look at a replica of Michaelangelo's Pieta on display at the St. Paul Cathedral. We started talking about the statue at dinner and I remembered the exhibit at the cathedral. We walked in and got a close up look at the amazing piece as the Cathedral was closing for the night. It is truly a masterpiece. I think the girls were more curious about the security and warned dad not to go beyond the red rope. What will happen if he does? they wondered. Anyway, we came home to look up the sculpture in an art book and looked at other famous works as well. A fun night!
